Here is a selection of my most recent dog pet portraits. Dogs
prove to be my most popular subject and I love doing all types of
dog portraits. Group portraits are no problem and I love doing
portraits that portray dogs at work and at play as well as the
more traditional dog portrait.
My dog portraits start from 8x10 right up to 16x20 inches. The
smaller sizes I recommend for head and shoulder portraits with
simple coloured backgrounds, 10x12 upwards are better for full
body dog portraits and detailed scenic backgrounds as there is
more room for the extra detail. I also tend to judge size
according to breed. If you have a large dog such as a Great Dane
his portrait will be better in a larger size, probably 16x12
inches upward. If you have a Yorkshire Terrier they may get a bit
lost in a portrait that size especially if it is just a head and
shoulders portrait. Therefore I would probably recommend a 10x12
inch portrait. These of course are all guidelines and if you need
any help deciding what is best for your dog portrait please don’t
hesitate to contact me.
