I think some of you may have realised it’s been a difficult few weeks for me and really the last 10 days or so it has been pretty much a case of head down and makes sure I can catch up and meet all my pressing deadlines.

I am sooooo very nearly there with it, I have a cat portrait to start tomorrow in pastels, but it is a very small pastel pet painting for me, just 6×6 inches. I will get a scan and when done and add it to this blog.

The purpose of this blog I suspect you can guess, is an easy way to keep you updated with my recent commissions that I really haven’t had the time to write about individually! I will get back to it asap I promise!

This week I made a major boo boo and painted a portrait of a Jack Russell off the the wrong photo! I had put in long and late hours to get the right commission done, but I finally got it finished today and scanned in. My client was super understanding and she is delighted with the finished painting. Meet Taffy, version 2!

Taffy, dog portrait of a Jack Russell terrier in pastels.

Other pet portrait commissions that have been going on this week have been of a gorgeous black labrador called Remi. This portrait has been completed in pencil, not pastel pencil, but graphite pencil. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you like the look of the pencil pet portraits and are interested in a commission
