The last year has been an awakening for me as I diversified from pastels into watercolours in the spring of 2016.
Until then I’d been mainly using the pastel medium for commissions through my pet portrait business. Turning to watercolours enabled me to develop my new bright and quirky Rainbow Watercolour range of wild and domestic animals.
These have really taken off with strong interest from far and wide. Their success have given me new confidence as a commercial artist by experimenting with a completely new approach to my work.
Streamline
So much so that I have taken my new work out on the road attending arts and crafts fairs in the South East and I will be exhibiting at least once a month throughout this year at various shows.
Pet portraits will always be my first love but my new watercolour range have opened up new horizons for me as well as creating many more commercial opportunities.
