So I am coming to the end of my break now. I am really looking forward to getting back to the commissions I have waiting for me. Mainly dog portraits, but I have a cat portrait and a horse portrait to do all for the end of the month.
I am getting enquiries for November and December already and also I have sold some gift vouchers too. If you are thinking of a pet portrait I would delay booking in your slot. It is just a 30% deposit and the balance upon completion. From September the Christmas commissions will start coming in in earnest.
Even while I have been having a break and not painting I have tried to respond to enquiries, but where I am phone signal and 4g are a rare breed so if I haven’t got back quickly I apologise. Normal service will be resumed tomorrow lunchtime.
On another good note I sold lots of cards and coasters to some friends which helped pay for my time off. Being self employed you have to factor in almost double the money. The money you aren’t earning and the spending money. However I wouldn’t change being self-employed for the world.
