Hastings weekend

This weekend I had off as I went to Hastings for Pirate Day, and what a giggle we had. As I work from home the scenery can get a bit boring, so I just love to get away. Especially with good friends. The kids came too and had a brilliant time.

Slow start to work today as I had to sort out and unpack as we got back quite late. I have managed to sketch out my largest pet portrait for a while. A dog called Charlie. It will measure 16×20 inches which is huge for me. Normally most of pet portraits fall around the 10×12 size. You get the paper I use as a board form and as this portrait is so large I decided it might be better, especially when it comes to framing to stop possibly bowing in the middle and touching the glass

I will hopefully be able to show you some progress on this portrait tomorrow. I have another cat portrait coming up and some mice which will be fun as I haven’t been asked paint mice before.

Hope you all had a good weekend and pop back tomorrow for updates on Charlie’s dog portrait.
