KNOCKHOLT artist Sarah Leigh beat a national field of artists to win CassArt’s ‘MakeAsplash’ watercolour competition. Biggin Hill born and bred Sarah’s range of rainbow style watercolour animals saw her receive £500 worth of art supplies.

She said: “I saw a Tweet on my phone from CassArt and couldn’t believe my eyes when my name was in the message.

“I’ve never won anything before and this week I was like a kid in a toy shop choosing from their great range of materials. When they arrived the next day it was like Christmas morning as I opened the package!”

Sarah, who paints in different mediums, exhibited her bluebell themed pastel work at The Riverhill Himalayan Gardens ‘Festival of Bluebells’ in April.

She entered a selection of her new range of watercolour animals in the competition including ‘Kayla’ (Crystal Palace’s team mascot) and ‘Horsing Around’.
