I am going to show you my tricks of the trade. Things I have learnt in the 10 years I have been doing my pet portraits and using pastels.
Tip #1
I always sharpen my pastel pencils with a knife and use sandpaper to get a sharp point. Every other sharpener I have used ends up breaking my lead. Save yourself the frustration of endlessly snapping your precious pencil lead and do it this way.
