I met Harriet and her beautiful dog Plum last night for a photoshoot, for a potential pet portrait. I really hope she goes ahead as Plum is beautiful. A working lab of 5 years she had a lovely silky black coat and a gentle nature.

Harriet was keen to make sure we got her finer features compared to a show lab. Show labs tend to have broader heads where as working labs have much finer features. They tend to be smaller too.

Plum was so well behaved, although a little bemused by my camera and why she was there! As always I let the dogs of a sniff and a wander of the surroundings before we start the photos as I think it makes them more settled when it comes to taking the photos.

Here is the stunning lady herself!IMG_6543 ed

What a stunner she is!

And just because I can’t resist her lovely face here is another!black lab, pet portrait photo, pet portraits, dog portrait

I am going to work with Harriet to decide on a background for Plum’s portrait, probably something fairly plain to make her the focus. I can work with all my clients every step of the way to make sure they get the best pet portrait.

Yesterday I also updated some more portraits to my galleries. Feel free to have a browse and see whats new!
