As a pet portrait and wildlife artist for most of this millennium I have only recently decided to start entering exhibitions.

And spurred on by some recent positive feedback and now thrown all caution to the wind and entered some of my pieces into established online competitions too.

And to my great surprise and delight, whilst not winning, I have been recognised in both that I ordered.

In the first, the  ‘Jackson’s 2015 Coloured Pencil Competition’ where last week I came second in the public choice category for ‘Lines of Love’ with nearly 200 votes winning a lovely set of ‘Karmina’ coloured pencils to add to my extensive range of art materials. So thanks everyone who voted for me.

Then the following day I heard my work, ‘Finn’ had been commended in the ‘Light Space and Time Online Art Gallery’s 2015 Animals Art Exhibition’ where I was included in the Special Merit Category.

To say I am chuffed is an understatement and watch this space to see if my work is accepted into  The Pastel Society’s 2016 Open Exhibition at London’s famous ‘Mall Galleries’. I’ve already seen my work get through  the pre-selection process and now excitedly awaiting to see if my pieces are finally accepted when I deliver them to the Gallery after Christmas. Fingers crossed.
