Sarah’s Pet Portraits and Sarah Leigh Fine Art have finally moved into brand new premises. Instead of in my loft, my studio is now located in this purpose built garden office at the back of my house. Or as I now call it my ‘shedio’!
It’s been purposely designed for my pet portrait and fine art work so I can mix daylight with artificial light depending on the time of the year to give me the best art studio environment.
I also intend to use my new shedio as a place to greet my pet portrait customers when they visit so they can view my artwork in situ as it comes off the easel. Hence the investment in the quality display shelving.
And when I have the time I’ll be producing a few animal and pet portraits to brighten up the wall space. But that’s a secondary priority as I’m finishing off my summer order book before I start on my Christmas pet portrait commissions which are starting to come in.
In between I’m preparing for my first exhibition in the new Turbine Gallery in Didcot, near Oxford which begins in mid-September. For this I’m painting new animals to add to my new Sarah Leigh Fine Art rainbow watercolour range that I work on alongside my pet portraits. However these will be on large watercolour canvases and so far I’m pleased with the results of working on this much bigger scale.
Once I’m happy I will post the chosen ones for the exhibition here with final dates for the exhibition.
