I am on the home straight, last few pet portraits to go now, but the work won’t end there as there is still lots of other bits to be done. Preparing for Christmas is one as the house turns into a complete tip in the last few weeks as I focus right in on finish the last few commissions.
Then there is my new year work. I have a few pet paintings that need to be done really early January so I cant wait until after Christmas to start, but at least the pressure is off! Or it will be by the end of the weekend.
I have finished two Jolly Splashes pet portraits yesterday, they were only minatures so I squeezed them in as a last minute job for a client. One was of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and another a cat. Both for the same person.
I am really pleased with how they turned out. I have been using my new Raven brushes and they have been working great, even for these size pet portraits which I was suprised about. It would be amazing if they did one size smaller, but unfortunately the don’t
Here are the finished paintings.
I was hoping to get out and walk tomorrow, but I am not sure my foot is going to take it. The worst thing about this is it is so up and down it is really hard as I never can be sure I am making progress with it. I wish I just knew, but I don’t. It would be so much easier to deal with. I am trying not to moan about it, but I am finding it so depressing now and I really need a break. I am struggling mentally being trapped in the house day after day all day. I manage a 20-25 minute walk with the dogs and a trip to the post office as an extra special treat. Hey ho, moan over. Last portrait to start tomorrow and then I concentrate on Fudge!
