Today…

Not been much painting going on, I had an appointment this morning and then I have packaged up two pet portraits up and sent them off to their forever homes today. Hopefully they should arrive tomorrow. I have started a beautiful bridge baby called Rosie. She is lying...

Complete rest weekend and back to it!

Nothing like being thrown in the deep end on a Monday morning, but at least it is doing what I love and I even got to watch a bit of Wimbledon. I am a huge Murray fan. My cat is called Murray, but he wasn’t named after Andy Murray, he came with that name when we...

Getting back to work slowly and Elvis

I am slowly feeling better and my hands are steadier than earlier in the week which is essential when doing pet portraits, you wouldn’t want a scribble after all! I have had some tweaks to make on the cat portrait, which is fine, just waiting to hear back now. I...

Been a bit quiet

Not due to the fact of work, but unfortunately I was involved in a RTA on Saturday so due to shock and some bruising I haven’t really felt up to working on my pet portraits much. I managed a little today, but to be honest I have taken it easy the last two days....

Under the weather

Been feeling under the weather today, probably due to the heat of the last few days so it has been a slow day. I have prepped the double dog portrait and cat portrait. Tomorrow hopefully I will be able to frame the Skye the Westie ready for her to go to her forever...

Too hot to work…..

I hope you are all enjoying this hot weather! I am about to go and sit in a beer garden and drink wine as it is now too hot to even attempt my latest pet portrait of a Westie, although I have prepped ready to start tomorrow. I am hoping to get that completed this week...

Backgrounds….

Backgrounds are a subjective thing for pet portraits. Some people like their horse or dog depicted in a scene, maybe their favourite beach, or on their favourite walk, or field. Others prefer a background that is plain and simple and doesn’t detract from their...

So forgetful

I meant to update you with Murphy’s portrait, the owner was delighted and the painting was framed and shipped today, for delivery tomorrow. My client chose a lovely dark wood, almost black frame to compliment him and it works really well. I am so pleased with...

Pen and watercolour work…

Although most of my pet portraits are done in pastels, I also offer pen and waterolour portraits. They aren’t as popular, but are more affordable due the time they take I can offer them at a lower price. That doesn’t mean I don’t put as much love and...
